Floods

Virtuoso is in an area of Brisbane that is prone to flooding however VIrtuoso is situated on one of the highest points in the Kurilpla reach of the river. Since construction in 2019, the most significant flood event was in early 2022.

On 19 February 2022 the basement of the bbuilding was inundated by sewage polluted water following a failure of the sewerage system at an uncapped inspection point located in the Basement Visitor Carpark area.

A significant amount of effort by residents cleaned the mess up in a display of considerable community spirit.

The following documents illustrate the work that was done to clean up the mess and some plans which has been prepared in 2017 and 2025 in the event that a flood should threaten the building.
